  Beautiful ride. Everyone must try it once. Kids to old, age doesn't matter, all will enjoy this. Especially the timber bridges and sitting in the windows with your feet hanging out. Awesome!

  If you enjoy the 'thrill' of going at an intense 10-20 miles per hour while sitting with your legs dangling out of the train for about 30 minutes before your buttocks get sore from the lack of any real support (where the people you see in pictures with their legs dangling out of Puffing Billy are sitting; there are proper seats inside), then go crazy. To be fair, Puffing Billy Railway doesn't advertise itself as an intense theme park style ride, but it does live up to its name, spewing smoke everywhere.
  
  Now, I'm not against that, because that IS the novelty of Puffing Billy. The sense of experiencing what it would have been like to ride an historical steam train is great for children. But if you're older like me (and I'm only 19 as I'm writing this), the 'fun' wears off quick, and it just becomes a slow train ride with kinda smoky air (depending of where you chose to sit and the weather conditions). 57$ felt a little much to me, but I suppose the upkeep must be costly.
  
  The best part might just be the fact that most of the staff are volunteers, and it's awesome to see the love and passion they have for the 'train that I rode when I was young'. Really friendly staff and good scenery make up for the downsides.
  
  Remember that these are just opinions. If you choose to go, I hope you have a blast.
