  I had a nostalgic evening at Babaji’s - eating dishes my mum and grandma used to cook when we were young. Loved all the beautiful vegetarian variety, amazed that there are still people around cooking such dishes, thankful to be the lucky few this night to have walked in and shown graciously to a table and served such wonderful Keralan fare.
  Thank you to the lovely, friendly staff who looked after us. Such warm hospitality is rare these days.

  Not sure what are raving reviews are about, my experience was a contrast. The restaurant was very unhygienic and poorly maintained. Sticky menu card, sticky tables, eaten plates and bones lying uncleaned on other tables, antique plates and cutlery. Afraid to imagine the state of the kitchen. I believe a menu card is a reflection of the state and care taken on a restaurant. Coming to the food ordered a mutton and chicken thali which was very average, oil in curries felt reused. 2 stars is only of one staff trying to everything there appreciate his efforts. Would not be visiting again!

  Babaji’s Kerala is more than a restaurant. It’s a beautiful place in Belgrave created to celebrate diversity & inclusion.
  From the minute you step in the door the owner makes you feel welcome in a relaxed and casual atmosphere.
  Authentic South Indian food, delicious and super fresh & presented in a colourful way.
  We enjoyed every minute of our lunch at this place.

  Believe the hype. We eat at a LOT of Indian Restaurants and I can confidently say the experience provided here is unique. Our server Paige was incredibly friendly and professional, the music was fantastic and the vibrant decorations made for a fun and bubbly atmosphere.
  The food was incredibly hard to fault. The beef could have been a little more tender and the Gulab Jamen weren't as soft as we were used to, but these small facts would not be enough to stop us from coming back. We're even thinking of staying a few nights in the area soon so that we can come to this restaurant again. Babaji's truly is a very special dining experience. 10/10 would recommend.

  Great ambience, well thought out of the fit out. it really reminds me when I was in south India.
  dishes are good in general, there are few dishes I didn't like only because personal preferences.
  I think they turned down the spice a little and it's understandable.
  overall I enjoyed my visit.

  We love our weekly Babajis Indian street food. Billy and her friendly staff provide delicious and authentic food. Highly recommended!
